Supermarkets Are Great Classrooms!!! This was felt by the teachers who accompanied with their respective classes to a field trip to Makro, a famous supermarket chain of Pakistan.
The visit to the supermarket was a great learning experience for all. With some imagination, it became a place where teachers got a chance to reinforce some of the most important concepts which students learnt in the classroom by relating them to real life.
As they shopped for things, they learnt about Buying and selling, Food and Nutrition, Vegetables and Fruits, Types of Materials, Electrical appliances etc. They also observed that the goods in a super market are generally divided into categories according to their types, prices, sizes, shapes and other classifications.
They studied how things were sorted and kept in an orderly manner. Our little ones also got an opportunity to observe the baker making pasta rolls and how ice was made locally in their storage room for storing meat.
Thus a powerful link was created in their minds between classroom learning and real life experiences. The trip was an overall great learning experience and full of fun and excitement.
