Fire-Fighters in Action
Our tiny tots are taught early on about hazards and safety issues. They know that fire, for all its glow and glitter is a complete no-no.
On the other hand, there are the fire-fighters, brave and courageous people who save others from fire. And so burning with curiosity, the students of prep I went to the nearest fire station to see the fire-fighters in action.
They saw the area where the fire-fighters stay, alert at all times for the call of duty. They watched with keen interest the equipment the fire-fighters used and the red of the fire truck had them enthralled. They were shown the different ways of putting out fire. The canopy of white foam that enveloped them sent them into peals of laughter.
Eventually, our little ones trooped back to school with the fire of knowledge rekindled in their little hearts and the embers of interest glowing from their eyes.
