The Cricket tournament held at Khaimat ur

Riyazat Al Jamea tus Saifiyah

With the IPL fever in the air, we decided a dose of that medicine was in order for us. And so the students of MSB Haidery reached the Jamea ground early Saturday morning, 5th of April for a cricket tournament.

The boys and girls tournaments were held separately with three teams participating in each tournament. MSB Lions, MSB Tigers and MSB Panthers were the boys’ teams while MSB Sharks, MSB Whales and MSB Dolphins were the girls’ teams.

Each team played two matches against each other and the final match was played between the two teams with the highest run-rate MSB Lions was declared the winner.

The highlight of the boys’ tournament was that teachers played alongside the students in all the teams which created excitement among the players and audience alike.

Remarkable performance was shown by Murtaza Mazhar from MSB Tigers who took 5 wickets with his extraordinary bowling and led his team to win against MSB Panthers with a huge margin. Ibrahim Huzefa Mukhi from MSB Lions along with Sir Shan scored several boundaries to build a formidable target of 87 runs which led them to victory in the final match. The final Match was well fought by Janab Mulla Ali Asghar Bhai and His team Specially Hussain Shabbir of class 6 by as his wicket fell the Lions had a tight grip on the Winning Trophy.
The girls’ winning team was declared on the highest run-rate which was MSB Sharks.

Secondary Section Field Trip To The PNS Maritime Museum

Field Trip to the Maritime Museum - 26th March 2012 A Report

It was a sunny morning on 26th March 2012. The students of classes 5-7 were excited as today they were going on a field trip to the PIA Planetarium. Unfortunately, just as we were about to leave, they called us up to inform us the show cannot run due to technical problems. But we were ready for emergencies.

We went to the Maritime Museum. The first thing the students noticed was the profusion of color in the beautiful and well-tended gardens. Spring was in the air!

Students divided into three groups. Students of class 5 were very excited to see the exact replicas of relics from the Indus Valley Civilization in the museum. Students of Class VI currently studying about conductors were curious about the excess of metal and machinery in the submarine while some claustrophobic students wondered how the naval sailors could live in such confined spaces. Class VII studying about the advent of Islam in Sindh were amazed to see, among other things, a stone shield weighing 20 kilos from that time period. The whale skeleton and life-sized replica of marine life generated a round of oohs and aahs from the students. All the students felt a spirit of patriotism as they learnt about the triumphs and sacrifices of the brave armed forces of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan which began as the Pakistan Resolution on 23rd March 1940 and culminated in the creation of Pakistan. March 23 is celebrated every year in Pakistan with patriotic fervor.

Students had their lunch in the garden over pleasant discussions of what they’d seen. Before leaving, our environmentally conscious children made sure all wrappers were thrown in the trash can.
